Catherine & Michael: Rainy Summer Wedding at Bassmead Manor Barns

On a rainy July morning, I returned to Bassmead Manor Barns to capture the lovely Catherine and Michael tie the knot. Despite rainy showers coming and going throughout the day, it certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits and we had so much fun photographing them celebrate this exciting new chapter with family and friends.

The Rickety Barn was the perfect cosy spot for their ceremony, and Catherine looked radiant walking down the aisle in her floaty lace dress, arm in arm with her dad. She carried a summery bouquet by the Flower Story: pink and white roses mixed with lush greenery and white veronicas. Michael stood proudly beside her, both of them all smiles as they said their vows in front of the most important people in their lives.

Guests threw petal confetti as they walked back down the aisle, and joined them for celebratory cocktails in the gardens as the rain stopped with perfect timing. We made the most of the beautiful grounds for their photos, and one of my favourite shots has to be during their couple portraits when the wind suddenly picked up and lifted Catherine’s veil into the air!

Before dinner, guests enjoyed fantastic speeches that had everyone laughing, before enjoying some of the best wedding food in the business! Later, they put up a wall of Krispy Kremes for evening nibbles whilst the venue got everything ready for the evening’s celebrations.

After a joyful cake cut, everyone hit the dancefloor and we loved capturing their moves before leaving them to dance the night away. It was the perfect end to their fantastic wedding day.

Thank you to Catherine and Michael for not only asking us to capture your day but making us feel so welcome too! We wish you a lifetime of happiness.

I’m not exaggerating when I say waking up this morning to see an email from you with the photos felt like Christmas morning!

We’ve just sat with a cup of tea looking through them all, feeling like I could laugh and cry seeing each one. We couldn’t be happier with the quality of your work and feel so grateful that we chose you to capture our day.

Alex & Max: Summer Outdoor Wedding at Kimbolton Castle

In a lovely sentimental touch, Alex and Max decided to get married at Kimbolton School, the very place their love story began when they met in their schooldays!

On a beautiful July morning, my day started capturing the girls getting ready at a family friend’s home. With bridesmaids in pale blue, Alex in a stunning lace dress by Mori Lee and all carrying bouquets of white roses with pops of blue delphiniums, they looked just perfect for a summer wedding. A particularly lovely moment unfolded when Alex’s bridesmaids and parents saw her in her dress for the first time - there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

The sun shone down on their ceremony in the courtyard at Kimbolton Castle, and Max waited at the end of the aisle as Alex descended down the grand stone staircase, accompanied by her parents. The ceremony was witnessed by their lovely mums, who stood under the arch as Alex and Max exchanged heartfelt vows.

Afterward, guests enjoyed garden games and drinks whilst we nipped off to make the most of the beautiful castle grounds for their couple portraits. My favourites took place in the Saloon, where light poured through the windows as Alex and Max enjoyed a moment alone together. And of course we had to take photos with their adorable golden retriever Mango!

The White Hall was the perfect setting for dinner, tables decorated in stunning white and blue floral arrangements. The speeches were both funny and heartfelt, the standout moment being the mums performing a duet on the piano which they’d written just for the newlyweds.

Alex and Max’s first dance kicked off the evening, with guests joining them to dance their hearts out. And to make it even better, they surprised their guests with a gigantic order of Domino’s pizza to keep everyone fed as the night progressed.

Thank you guys for having us capture your day! It was wonderful from start to finish and we wish you every happiness for the future.

Jamie & Rob: Summer Wedding at Bassmead Manor Barns

Jamie and Rob’s wedding at Bassmead Manor Barns was an absolute joy to photograph! Their gorgeous venue, nestled in the Bedfordshire countryside, is one of my all time favourites and I’m so honoured to be one of their recommended photographers.

They chose soft pastels for their day, with the girls in pale blue dresses, carrying bouquets of seasonal wildflowers by the talented ladies at Flowers at 58, and the groomsmen in matching ties. Jamie looked stunning in a lace and tulle dress by Maggie Sottero, and Rob and the boys looked sharp in their navy suits.

Their wedding ceremony took place in the charming Rickety Barn, a cosy and rustic setting which created an intimate atmosphere to exchange their vows under the beams and fairy lights in front of their closest friends.

Guests showered the newlyweds with confetti before heading to the beautiful gardens of Bassmead for a relaxed drinks reception. The gardens made for the perfect backdrop for photos with their family and friends, and we were thrilled to find lots of beautiful wildflowers in the nearby fields for their couple portraits. It was lovely to give them a quiet moment together amidst the whirlwind of the big day.

The celebrations continued with dinner, followed by speeches that had everyone bent over in laughter, moments which were a complete joy to capture. And as the evening set in, Jamie and Rob took to the dance floor with a choreographed first dance, ending in the highlight of Rob picking Jamie up and spinning her around. Everyone joined them on the dance floor and the photo booth props even made their way into the dancing photos!

Thank you guys for having us capture your wonderful day. A huge love and congratulations to you both!

Thank you SO MUCH for these. We are not posers but you both made us feel at ease and we barely knew you were there. You captured things we weren’t even aware of!

Mel & Jono: Joyful Summer Wedding at South Farm, Royston

My first wedding in July took me back to South Farm for the wonderful Mel and Jono’s day, the venue looking absolutely beautiful under the sunshine as everyone got ready for the big day.

My day began with a lovely morning capturing Mel, her sisters and mum getting ready in the Coach House suite and it was just heartwarming to capture the excitement they shared as they all prepared for the day.

Mel looked absolutely stunning in her chic Jesus Peiro dress which she paired with a bouquet of purple roses, sweet pea and eucalyptus - perfect for a summer wedding. Jono looked dapper in his morning suit, with blue cravat and grey waistcoat.

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for their outdoor ceremony, held in the Summer House nestled in South Farm’s peaceful gardens. Mel walked down the aisle arm in arm with her mum, beaming as she approached Jono.

Their joyful ceremony was such a joy to capture as they said their vows in front of their friends and family, and their married life started walking back down the aisle through a tunnel of bubbles, followed by a confetti run in front of the iconic South Farm blue door.

Dinner and speeches took place in the beautifully decorated Tudor Barn which brimmed with floral arrangements and little iced biscuits as favours for the guests. I was amazed to learn that Mel had made the wedding cake herself - what a talented bride!

A real highlight of the day was taking Mel and Jono for photos with the piglets, a photo opportunity unique to South Farm that’s always a hit with both couples and guests alike! The joy on their faces made for fabulous photos and I’ll never turn down an opportunity to cuddle up with piglets!

After a little detour to take some couple photos in the beautiful golden hour, their evening kicked off with a joyful first dance before friends and family joined them on the dancefloor to dance the night away.

Thank you Mel and Jono for having us capture your wonderful day! We loved every minute and wish you every happiness at the start of this exciting new chapter in your lives together.

Oh my goodness Cat! You superstar. They are absolutely amazing and we love them. Thank you so so much, you are such an excellent photographer!

Jen & Sam: Rustic Summer Wedding at Huntsmill Farm

With the clearest blue sky and temperatures soaring to 38c, Jen & Sam’s sunny June wedding day was one of the hottest days I’ve ever photographed!

One of my favourite things about Huntsmill Farm is the charming cottage accommodation they have on site, which meant I had the opportunity to flit between both Jen and Sam’s rooms and photograph them both getting ready.

Their ceremony took place at the nearby St Edward’s church in Shalstone, a charming countryside church and the perfect setting for their vows. It was such a joyful ceremony which ended in a shower of confetti as Jen and Sam left the church with beaming smiles as a newly married couple.

We returned to Huntsmill Farm to continue the celebrations, with Jen and Sam arriving in style in a tuk tuk as a nod to their love for travelling. Guests enjoyed drinks under the shade of the trees, along with garden games and canapes.

The barn was transformed for the wedding breakfast, with fairy lights and a big floral installation hanging from the beams. Each table was named after a place they had travelled to, a lovely personal touch which I’m sure had everyone reminiscing about their own adventures! The speeches were a highlight, filled with laughter and heartfelt moments.

With a day this sunny it’s a pretty safe bet we’ll get a fabulous golden hour and that was exactly the case here! I whisked them away for photos in the nearby fields as the sun set, a little serene moment for them in the midst of the excitement of the day.

The celebrations continued as the sun set, with everyone dancing the night away to a fantastic live band. It was a fantastic day through and through and such a joy to capture.

Thank you Jen and Sam for having me along for the ride! Your day was fantastic and I wish you guys a lifetime of happiness.
