Jamie & Rob: Summer Wedding at Bassmead Manor Barns

Jamie and Rob’s wedding at Bassmead Manor Barns was an absolute joy to photograph! Their gorgeous venue, nestled in the Bedfordshire countryside, is one of my all time favourites and I’m so honoured to be one of their recommended photographers.

They chose soft pastels for their day, with the girls in pale blue dresses, carrying bouquets of seasonal wildflowers by the talented ladies at Flowers at 58, and the groomsmen in matching ties. Jamie looked stunning in a lace and tulle dress by Maggie Sottero, and Rob and the boys looked sharp in their navy suits.

Their wedding ceremony took place in the charming Rickety Barn, a cosy and rustic setting which created an intimate atmosphere to exchange their vows under the beams and fairy lights in front of their closest friends.

Guests showered the newlyweds with confetti before heading to the beautiful gardens of Bassmead for a relaxed drinks reception. The gardens made for the perfect backdrop for photos with their family and friends, and we were thrilled to find lots of beautiful wildflowers in the nearby fields for their couple portraits. It was lovely to give them a quiet moment together amidst the whirlwind of the big day.

The celebrations continued with dinner, followed by speeches that had everyone bent over in laughter, moments which were a complete joy to capture. And as the evening set in, Jamie and Rob took to the dance floor with a choreographed first dance, ending in the highlight of Rob picking Jamie up and spinning her around. Everyone joined them on the dance floor and the photo booth props even made their way into the dancing photos!

Thank you guys for having us capture your wonderful day. A huge love and congratulations to you both!

Thank you SO MUCH for these. We are not posers but you both made us feel at ease and we barely knew you were there. You captured things we weren’t even aware of!

Mel & Jono: Joyful Summer Wedding at South Farm, Royston

My first wedding in July took me back to South Farm for the wonderful Mel and Jono’s day, the venue looking absolutely beautiful under the sunshine as everyone got ready for the big day.

My day began with a lovely morning capturing Mel, her sisters and mum getting ready in the Coach House suite and it was just heartwarming to capture the excitement they shared as they all prepared for the day.

Mel looked absolutely stunning in her chic Jesus Peiro dress which she paired with a bouquet of purple roses, sweet pea and eucalyptus - perfect for a summer wedding. Jono looked dapper in his morning suit, with blue cravat and grey waistcoat.

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for their outdoor ceremony, held in the Summer House nestled in South Farm’s peaceful gardens. Mel walked down the aisle arm in arm with her mum, beaming as she approached Jono.

Their joyful ceremony was such a joy to capture as they said their vows in front of their friends and family, and their married life started walking back down the aisle through a tunnel of bubbles, followed by a confetti run in front of the iconic South Farm blue door.

Dinner and speeches took place in the beautifully decorated Tudor Barn which brimmed with floral arrangements and little iced biscuits as favours for the guests. I was amazed to learn that Mel had made the wedding cake herself - what a talented bride!

A real highlight of the day was taking Mel and Jono for photos with the piglets, a photo opportunity unique to South Farm that’s always a hit with both couples and guests alike! The joy on their faces made for fabulous photos and I’ll never turn down an opportunity to cuddle up with piglets!

After a little detour to take some couple photos in the beautiful golden hour, their evening kicked off with a joyful first dance before friends and family joined them on the dancefloor to dance the night away.

Thank you Mel and Jono for having us capture your wonderful day! We loved every minute and wish you every happiness at the start of this exciting new chapter in your lives together.

Oh my goodness Cat! You superstar. They are absolutely amazing and we love them. Thank you so so much, you are such an excellent photographer!

Jen & Sam: Rustic Summer Wedding at Huntsmill Farm

With the clearest blue sky and temperatures soaring to 38c, Jen & Sam’s sunny June wedding day was one of the hottest days I’ve ever photographed!

One of my favourite things about Huntsmill Farm is the charming cottage accommodation they have on site, which meant I had the opportunity to flit between both Jen and Sam’s rooms and photograph them both getting ready.

Their ceremony took place at the nearby St Edward’s church in Shalstone, a charming countryside church and the perfect setting for their vows. It was such a joyful ceremony which ended in a shower of confetti as Jen and Sam left the church with beaming smiles as a newly married couple.

We returned to Huntsmill Farm to continue the celebrations, with Jen and Sam arriving in style in a tuk tuk as a nod to their love for travelling. Guests enjoyed drinks under the shade of the trees, along with garden games and canapes.

The barn was transformed for the wedding breakfast, with fairy lights and a big floral installation hanging from the beams. Each table was named after a place they had travelled to, a lovely personal touch which I’m sure had everyone reminiscing about their own adventures! The speeches were a highlight, filled with laughter and heartfelt moments.

With a day this sunny it’s a pretty safe bet we’ll get a fabulous golden hour and that was exactly the case here! I whisked them away for photos in the nearby fields as the sun set, a little serene moment for them in the midst of the excitement of the day.

The celebrations continued as the sun set, with everyone dancing the night away to a fantastic live band. It was a fantastic day through and through and such a joy to capture.

Thank you Jen and Sam for having me along for the ride! Your day was fantastic and I wish you guys a lifetime of happiness.

Gemma & Charles: Summer Wedding at Bassmead Manor Barns

It’s always a joy to return to Bassmead Manor Barns, and Gemma and Charles’ sunny June wedding was no exception. It was a fab day from start to finish and everyone made us feel so welcome and a part of the day.

My day began capturing Gemma, her bridesmaids and mum getting ready in the boudoir. Everyone was buzzing with excitement and I couldn’t get over how stunning Gemma looked in her St Patrick gown, adorned from head to toe in elegant floral embroidery. To complete her bridal look she carried a vibrant bouquet of purple roses, thistles and astilbe which perfectly complemented Charles’ magenta tie and blue suit.

Their ceremony took place in the beautiful Rickety Barn, surrounded by their loved ones and exchanging vows in front of a stunning floral moongate. It was so lovely to capture the start of this new chapter in their lives together, particularly the emotional hug they shared at the end of their ceremony. Such a heartfelt moment!

Glorious sunshine came down as they left the barn as a newly married couple to confetti thrown by their nearest and dearest, and guests spilled out into Bassmead’s beautiful courtyard as we snuck off for couple photos with the newlyweds.

The barn looked fabulous dressed up for dinner with colourful floral arrangements decorating the tables, with jewel-toned bunting hanged from the beams.

As the evening unfolded, Gemma and Charles surprised everyone with an upbeat choreographed first dance that kicked off the party and we left them all to dance the night away.

Huge love and congratulations to you both and thank you for having us capture your day!

Thank you so much Cat, they are amazing. So many wonderful memories flooding back! We can’t wait to show our friends and family. We hope to see you again soon, maybe at another wedding!

Rachel & Ben: Summer Woburn Safari Park & Tipi Wedding

I think it would be impossible not to smile looking back through Rachel and Ben’s wedding day - it was so much fun and Rachel’s laughter is so wonderfully contagious!

This stylish pair didn’t let the wet weather dampen their spirits one bit and we loved every minute of their fab day. Rachel was stunning in a flowing tulle dress, paired with a bouquet of white flowers and greenery, and Ben looked great in his floral jacket and trilby hat.

For their ceremony, they’d chosen the Safari Lodge at Woburn Safari Park which made for a truly memorable venue! They exchanged vows on the veranda, overlooking the meerkat and otter enclosures, their ceremony brimming with joy and laughter.

Afterwards, we headed to a nearby farm where a cosy tipi awaited us for the rest of the day. Rachel and Ben had decorated it after their love of reading, with literature themed table decor and even a book-shaped wedding cake.

With absolute perfect timing, the rain stopped right after the speeches and we seized the moment to get everyone out for confetti and group photos with their nearest and dearest. It dried up so fast that we were even able to get some lovely relaxed shots of Rachel and Ben sat down in the long grass which remain big favourites of my portfolio to this day.

The evening kicked off with a fantastic band, and Rachel and Ben’s first dance to “Are You Ready For Love” by Elton John was such a highlight. As I write this, their wedding was a few years ago now and to this day whenever I hear that tune it takes me right back to their fantastic wedding day!

Thank you Rachel & Ben for asking us to capture such an important chapter in your lives together! It was such a joy and we wish you both every happiness.

Thank you SO SO SO SO MUCH - our photos are amazing and it’s great to have so many! We really appreciate it!
