Danni & Andy: Barn Wedding at the Ashes, Staffordshire

Back in April, I travelled into the heart of the Staffordshire countryside with Emma Hare to second shoot the lovely Danni & Andy's wedding alongside her, set in a gorgeous barn venue, The Ashes Exclusive Country House Barn Wedding Venue Staffordshire.

Danni's vision had their wedding day decorated from top to bottom in wild flowers in purple, pink and white and bunting for a vintage touch. I'm still absolutely in love with her unique beaded wedding dress too - truly original!

Despite the freezing cold weather Danni & Andy were absolute stars and put up with it to let us get some really lovely portraits in the beautiful grounds of their venue. Thank you so much guys!

Rosie & Mike: Elvetham Hotel Wedding

On a sunny day in April, we headed down to Hampshire to photograph the wedding of the lovely Rosie and Mike, who met at school! The setting for their day was the achingly beautiful Elvetham Hotel in Hampshire, upon which the sun shone for the entirety of their wedding day.

Rosie planned their wedding themed on teapots, and it was so clear when walking around the dining hall that she had spent many weeks sourcing these beautiful, unique teapots and crockery to bring her vision to life. She even managed to find gift bags with teapots on to give to her bridesmaids!

One of the most wonderful guests on their day had to be their adorable pug Alfie, who has a bit of a penchant for jumping on peoples' shoulders! His excitement didn't falter one bit during the whole day and bombed around with joy for the duration.

For me personally this day was quite significant because Rosie and I "met" a long, long time ago in the days of embarrassing screen names on MySpace, over which time I grew from somebody who occasionally took photographs of bluebells and clouds into a professional photographer. So when I heard from her last year enquiring about wedding photography, it meant more to me than I can put into words. And with that, we met for the very first time on her wedding day. A huge honour.

Rosie and Mike, a huge congratulations to you both, and thank you for having us as part of your beautiful day!

"Thank you so much for providing such professional, yet friendly photography for our special day. We did not feel awkward at all at any point, the process was totally relaxed and natural and you can tell this by the photographs. We couldn’t be happier and our photos really tell the story of our day from beginning to end. You really did our day justice through your photos!" - Rosie & Mike

Amanda & Simon: Bassmead Manor Barns Wedding

We started off our 2015 wedding season with Amanda & Simon’s wedding day, set in the beautiful grounds of Bassmead Manor Barns and our first time shooting at this wonderful venue. Despite being in early April, the sun came out for their day and everybody got to enjoy blazing sunshine and summer temperatures for the entire day.

They exchanged vows in the Rickety Barn, a beautiful old barn filled with wooden beams and fairy lights. The perfect setting and one at which I gasped when I saw it for the first time! Amanda’s aesthetic for the day had a vintage twist, with peach coloured roses by florist Sue Billington and an intricately beaded dress, a girl after my own heart!

Amanda and Simon, thank you both so much for having us as part of your day. We wish you every happiness!

"They are absolutely amazing! We love them. Thank you so so much!" - Amanda & Simon

Lucy & Grant: Lindisfarne & Alnwick Garden Wedding

My last wedding of 2014 was a really exciting and unique one, with the lovely Grant & Lucy getting married on the holy island of Lindisfarne, off the north east coast. One of the best things about being a wedding photographer is having the opportunity to travel all over the place and this day was no exception to that!

Elly Lucas at E.L. Hitched had kindly asked if I'd like to help photograph this day with her and of course the answer was a resounding yes! Getting from where I am based in Bedford to all the way up north to Lindisfarne was by no means a short journey but it was one thousand percent worth it and more as the incredible landscape unfolded before us as we drove across the country.

After a beautiful, thoughtful ceremony on the island (which ended in Grant & Lucy dancing down the aisle to Pharrell Williams' Happy!), we all headed off to the jaw-droppingly stunning Alnwick Gardens back on the mainland. With its amazing architectural gardens and incredible after-dark light show, it was the perfect place to celebrate. Congratulations Grant & Lucy - it really was a privilege to be a part of your day.

Helen & Andrew: Lake District Festival Wedding

Back in August, Elly from E.L Hitched asked if I fancied coming along to photograph a festival wedding with her in the Lake District... well, to put it simply there was no way I was going to turn that offer down!

Helen & Andrew's wedding took place in two incredible venues: the beautiful Lancaster Cathedral and in the Lake District, where they created their very own WedFest, featuring a massive tipi for their celebrations and a village of bell tents for their guests to stay in. Amazing!

With a tug of war (won by the bride's team!), a ceilidh band, camping for everybody and incredible food, they really had thought of everything and the day was just non-stop fun from start to finish.

And to top it all off, their wonderful day was featured in my all time favourite wedding blog, Love My Dress, which you can take a peek at HERE. Congratulations Helen & Andrew, thank you so much for having us as part of your day and I wish you every happiness for the future!
