Sophie & Alan: Chic Spring Wedding at Bedford School

On a beautiful May day I had the privilege of capturing Sophie and Alan tie the knot, a wedding which I knew would always hold a special place in my heart! Sophie was one of the first people I ever photographed, so being asked to capture her wedding was a full circle moment that meant a great deal to me.

Alan and his groomsmen set the style bar high looking sharp in their tuxedos as they arrived at St Owens Church in Bromham to set up for the ceremony. Sophie wowed us all in a stunning strapless gown by Justin Alexander, accompanied by her bridesmaids looking chic in black floor length dresses. They made for one stylish group!

The sun continued to shine as the ceremony started and it was joyful from start to finish - I don’t think anyone stopped smiling for a second! Confetti thrown by cheering friends and family was the perfect way to kick off their married life before we headed off for the reception.

Bedford School was the setting for the rest of the day’s celebrations. I love shooting there and it’s just around the corner from where I live too! The Great Hall looked fanatstic transformed with festoon lights and flowers for the wedding breakfast.

My favourite spot for photos at Bedford School has to be the huge staircase leading up to the chapel and I loved shooting there with Alan and Sophie, giving them a few minutes to enjoy each others’ company in the middle of the wedding madness.

Their day was such a whirlwind and before we knew it, it was time to party! The room came alive and we loved capturing the shapes everyone pulled as they danced the night away celebrating this exciting new chapter in Sophie & Alan’s life together.

Congratulations you two and thank you for the privilege of capturing your incredible day!

I knew Cat from when she was first starting out, and said to myself “she’ll photograph my wedding one day”, and lo and behold she did! She was the most professional, wonderful and talented photographer. Our photos are so beautiful, I can’t even believe they’re us! She captured our day to a T, and made us feel so comfortable and we were just us. Thank you, Cat for helping us relive our day all over again.

Nicola & James: Joyful Spring Wedding at South Farm, Royston

Although the British weather had other plans for their outdoor ceremony, the short burst of rain on Nicola and James’ wedding day certainly didn’t dampen their spirits and it was such a joy to return to South Farm to capture their fantastic wedding day.

Given that Nicola is a fashion designer, her outfit was every bit as chic as expected! She looked stunning in a beaded Maggie Sottero dress which she paired with a beautiful bouquet of peach and blue flowers by the talented florist Clare Jones.

One of the most emotional moments was when Nicola's dad saw her in her dress for the first time - there wasn’t a dry eye, including mine behind the camera!

The ceremony took place in the Old Dairy, and James's reaction to seeing Nicola walk down the aisle was priceless. It was such a privilege to capture such a joy filled ceremony and it was clear they are just perfect for each other. And with perfect timing, as the ceremony concluded the rain stopped so we could kickstart the celebrations with a confetti shot!

We had so much fun laughing with the two of them as we shot their couple portraits on the tree-lined path to the venue, before they stopped for a cheeky ice cream on the way to their receiving line.

The Tudor Barn looked gorgeous set up for the wedding breakfast, most notably decorated with a personalised Monopoly board on each table, adorned with their names and each property on the board named after places special to them. It was such a unique and personal touch and made for a great talking point amongst their guests!

After cutting their wedding cake, the dance floor buzzed with serious moves and we loved capturing Nicola and James dancing with their friends and family. As I left I couldn’t resist taking the two of them out for one last portrait in the beautiful golden hour, before leaving them to celebrate the night away.

Thank you both so much for having us capture your wedding day. We loved every minute and wish the two of you every happiness!

Thank you so much for everything you did for us on our wedding day. Not only did you capture our day with such beautiful photographs, but you made the day feel so relaxed and comfortable for us. You were also so doting to us with everything we needed and went above and beyond your title as photographer - you even did up Nicola’s dress when her mum couldn’t find her glasses! Thanks for being the best photographer, and our friend.

Isabelle & Sean: Springtime Wedding at Woburn Sculpture Gallery

It was such a joy to return to the exquisite Sculpture Gallery on the Woburn Estate for Isabelle & Sean’s wedding! Their day was an absolute dream, the venue adorned with pops of vibrant red roses, peonies and dahlias against the beautiful sculpture work.

Isabelle looked stunning in a lace bodice dress with a tiered organza skirt, and Sean met her at the end of the aisle looking smart in a deep navy check suit. The ceremony was so emotional and it was such a joy to capture them saying their vows in front of their nearest and dearest.

Whilst guests enjoyed drinks and canapés on the terrace, we ventured off with the newlyweds to make the most of the grounds for photos. We started in my favourite spot, the Camellia Room, capturing them amidst the exotic plants and beautiful camellias. And of course no wedding at the Sculpture Gallery would be complete without shooting in front of the stunning Woburn Abbey.

The rest of the celebrations unfolded with heartwarming speeches and a delicious wedding breakfast, leaving everyone in high spirits as they danced the night away. With the Sculpture Gallery currently closed for refurbishment, we eagerly await the opportunity to shoot here again some day soon.

Thank you Isabelle and Sean for asking us along to capture your fantastic day. We wish you every happiness!

I still feel in awe of the photos Cat managed to capture on our special day. She was so accommodating and made myself and my husband feel really comfortable. She is amazing and I highly recommend her to everyone!

Rachel & Matt: Spring Outdoor Wedding at The Paper Mill, Kent

Rachel & Matt’s day was just magical from start to finish, with The Paper Mill in Kent as the backdrop for their day. Set in the Kent countryside, their ceremony was in a little woodland clearing with paper lanterns hanging from the trees and guests sat on hay bales.

They chose the perfect time of year for their day with the woodland in full bloom with wild garlic and bluebells everywhere you looked! Rachel was radiant in her Pronovias lace dress and flower crown, carrying a bouquet of seasonal blooms. Her bridesmaids accompanied her in pretty pink dresses embroidered with flowers, perfect for a Spring day.

After a joyful ceremony of personal vows and guests singing songs, the celebrations kicked off with a flurry of confetti. Everyone headed up the hill to a rustic little barn where they held a lively ceilidh which got everyone up and dancing.

Dinner was a relaxed affair with delicious pie and mash served for the wedding breakfast, followed by fantastic speeches that had everyone laughing. The rain then cleared to a vibrant golden hour, so we whisked Rachel and Matt away for photos in the woodland amongst the bluebells.

More dancing awaited as a band set up in the barn for the evening celebrations. And for a truly unforgettable end to the evening, fire spinners put on a fantastic display for everyone. Absolutely amazing!

Thank you Rachel & Matt for asking us to capture your incredible day! We loved spending time with you both and your day is one we’ll always remember.

Thank you for taking the most beautiful photos of our wedding. Every picture is amazing and together they capture all we wanted to showcase of our day. Thank you for being so enthusiastic from beginning to end - this enthusiasm and genuine love of what you do shows in each and every picture.

It really was more like having another friend at a wedding and you really put both of us at ease. We most definitely made the right decision!

Hannah & Nick: Intimate Spring Wedding at Bassmead Manor Barns

Nestled in the Bedfordshire countryside, Bassmead Manor Barns is one of my all-time favourite venues and it was lovely to return there for Hannah & Nick’s wedding day. It was the perfect setting for their intimate celebration, with the Rickety Barn ready for their vows adorned in vibrant wildflowers and fairy lights.

They exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by their nearest and dearest before starting their celebrations in a shower of petal confetti thrown by joyful guests as they left the barn.

After the ceremony, we wandered the grounds with them and made the most of the beautiful spring blossom for their couple portraits. It was especially lovely to capture their joy not only as newlyweds, but also expectant parents too.

Bassmead’s wedding food is some of the best I’ve ever had, and guests enjoyed a fantastic dinner followed by emotional speeches which we loved capturing. Their night started with a joyful first dance followed by Hannah and her dad dancing a lively jig - a lovely surprise to start the evening’s celebrations.

After sneaking out to take some dramatic night time portraits we left them all to dance the night way. Hannah and Nick, thank you so much for having us capture your wonderful day!

We’ve been recommending you to everyone! You made us feel so at ease at the wedding and you both really fitted into the day, it felt like you two were guests more than photographers! Thank you for helping make our day so special.
