I had always dreamed of shooting a wedding at the Swiss Gardens as it's a place that is really special to me, and Steve & Georgina's 1920s inspired day made it happen!
Their ceremony was a beautifully intimate gathering, held in the Swiss Cottage which seats just 20 people. Georgina wowed us all when she walked down the aisle in her stunning beaded Eliza Jane Howell dress, evening gloves and art deco headdress - a beautiful modern twist on 1920s glitz and glamour. Guests peeked in at the ceremony through the windows as they said their vows and listened to heartfelt readings from family and friends.
Afterwards, everybody headed into the stunning Swiss Gardens for drinks and canapes, and we were lucky enough to have a tour to find fabulous places for Steve & Georgina's portraits. I always thought the Grotto would make an amazing setting for wedding portraits.. and it was just as great as I'd imagined.
Hangar 3 at the Shuttleworth Collection was the setting for their reception, and that was where Georgina's vision truly came to life. Walking into the hangar was a real wow moment, with patriotic bunting hanging from the rafters and tables decorated with fabulous feathered centrepieces and sequinned tablecloths.
Before the wedding breakfast began, guests were treated to a tour of the historic Shuttleworth collection, and we were so grateful to be allowed past the barriers to take portraits next to the aeroplanes - thank you Shuttleworth!
Steve & Georgina, thank you so much for asking me to photograph your day. It was an honour to capture the love and dedicated vision that was your wedding day!
