Fareen & Nick: Multicultural Wedding at Bedford Town Hall & Garden Marquee, Bedfordshire

Fareen & Nick’s gorgeous summer wedding was one of those days that stays with you long after it’s over, so it’s been one I’ve been excited to blog for a long time! They chose late August for their day and the weather was absolutely perfect, the sunny weather setting the stage for their garden wedding which proved to be a beautiful blend of both their cultures.

One of best things about having two photographers capture your day is that it allows us to capture both sides of the story, with each moment of your mornings captured on the lead up to the ceremony. Fareen chose to get ready with her bridesmaids and family at a nearby AirBNB - a fantastic idea which gave them the space to share the morning excitement together but with plenty of space to relax in too. Meanwhile, Nick and his groomsmen enjoyed a laid-back morning at his parents’ home as they donned their sharp navy suits and burnt orange ties.

Fareen looked incredible in her Halfpenny London dress, paired with elegant Saint Lauren sandals which highlighted the intricate henna on her feet. With her hair in soft waves and carrying a bouquet of pinks and oranges, it was the perfect summer wedding look.

Their wedding ceremony at Bedford Town Hall was an emotional one and it was so clear how much they both are cherished by their friends and family. As they said their vows the room was filled with an overwhelming sense of love and support and it was a joy to capture.

Afterward, we all headed to Nick’s family home where the celebrations continued in his parents’ garden. They had spent the week setting up for the day, centered around a stretch tent which had been adorned with paper lanterns, vibrant flowers and multicoloured bunting. Musicians played gentle sitar music as guests enjoyed drinks and Indian canapés on the lawn.

Everyone headed into the tent for emotional speeches which had everyone laughing and crying in equal measure. It was so lovely to capture these moments as they unfolded and I loved how they broke with tradition with Fareen’s friends giving speeches as well as Nick’s.

As evening came around, we couldn’t resist sneaking away from the celebrations to take photos with the newlyweds in the beautiful golden hour sun. We sat down in a nearby field and gave them a peaceful moment to reflect on the day as we captured them in the soft evening light.

The night kicked off with cake cutting and some traditional Hindu ceremonies in which Fareen’s family officially welcomed Nick into the fold. And then of course it was time to hit the dance floor, with a fantastic band getting everyone up on their feet and dancing along with the couple as the sun set.

Thank you both for having us capture your day. We truly loved every moment and it will be a memory we hold dear for a very long time. Congratulations!

The photos are fantastic - thank you! We can’t wait to share them with our friends and family. We know that they will absolutely love them too. We truly appreciate all your hard work and effort both in the run up to the wedding and on the day itself. It really made us so much more relaxed and comfortable knowing that you were our photographer.

Talia & Andrew: Summer Marquee Wedding in Hampshire

I first met bride Talia through the Bedford creative community, so when she enquired with me about her wedding photography I knew it was going to be a fantastic day!

Their wedding was held in Hampshire on family land, with the ceremony taking place in a little wooded clearing which used to be an old chalk mine. It made for the perfect location for their vows, with the trees surrounding them as they said their vows in front of guests sat on hay bales. It was nothing short of special, with a friend conducting their ceremony and lots of readings from their nearest and dearest making it truly personal to Talia and Andrew and their story as a couple.

They left their joyful ceremony to petal confetti thrown by friends and family, and we walked out of the clearing to continue the celebrations in a nearby field. The marquee they’d set up earlier in the week looked fantastic, with tables set up with luxurious charcuterie boards and fabric chandeliers hanging from the ceilings.

The field offered more than just a view, with hay bales, hula hoops, garden games and bouncy hoppers bringing a relaxed and fun energy to the day. Nearby, they had set up glamping tents for their guests to stay in which allowed everyone to party away into the night without worrying about a taxi home!

After dinner, emotional speeches flowed, with Talia’s speech always standing out in my memory. It’s not often you have brides doing speeches but I’m always a big fan of the girls having our say too!

Golden hour beckoned and we took a little walk with Talia & Andrew to capture them in the nearby fields as the sun set. You spend a surprisingly small amount of time alone together on your wedding day and I always love to give a couple a chance to have time out and have a catch up with each other in the wedding madness!

As the day dimmed, the marquee lit up, with music and dance marking the perfect end to Talia and Andrew's memorable day. As always we captured everyone pulling shapes on the dancefloor and we left them all to party the night away!

Thank you Talia & Andrew for bringing us along for the party. We had a great time!

You are amazing. I can’t quite believe how many millions of
beautiful photos there are. We absolutely blooming love them all.

Hannah & Gerard: Summer Outdoor Marquee Wedding in Bedfordshire

Early June gave us Hannah & Gerard’s gorgeous wedding day, and a never ending supply of sunshine to go with it too! With their ceremony at a local church in Silsoe and the reception in a marquee on Gerard’s family farmland, their day was personal and lovely through and through.

Hannah looked gorgeous in her dress which featured eye-catching lace appliqued around the waist, her hair in a chic updo and carrying a bouquet of white peonies, purple roses and clematis. Gerard looked smart in a navy blue wool jacket which he paired with grey chinos and brown boots.

A classic red London bus took Hannah and bridesmaids to the little church in Silsoe where they held their ceremony. Her proud mum walked her down the aisle and I just loved the way she beamed when she met Gerard at the altar.

Their friends and family showered them with confetti as they started their married life, and everyone hopped aboard the bus to head to the marquee.

From homemade signs of their favourite quotes to a cute little basket inviting guests to feed the family sheep, before we’d even got to the marquee it was clear they had thought of every little detail. The marquee was decorated by the fabulous Gemma at The White Emporium, with lilac lanterns hanging from the ceiling and potted lavender and herbs along the tables.

Upon arrival guests enjoyed welcome drinks, canapes and plenty of garden games which were met with lots of enthusiasm. A particularly animated game of tug-of-war brought out everyone's competitive side – well done to Team Bride for clinching the win!

After dinner we enjoyed lots of fantastic speeches, the highlights of course being Hannah’s (I’m always thrilled when a bride does a speech!) and Gerard who kicked his off by shouting into a microphone: “WE’RE F***ING MARRIED!”. Lots of cheers and applause ensued!

The evening celebrations continued with the bride and groom taking to the dancefloor and kicking off the party with an upbeat first dance to a Beatles song. We loved their day from start to finish and it was such a joy to capture. Congratulations Hannah & Gerard and thank you for having us there for the ride!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the photos. They’re amazing and we’re pleased with them. You captured some amazing moments. Thank you thank you.

Lizzy & John: Summer Marquee Wedding at Dunstall Lodge Farm

If I had to describe Lizzy & John’s day in three words I’d simply have to say: so much joy. I felt so welcomed into her parents home in the morning and their entire day was non-stop fun from start to finish.

Lizzie’s bridal look was beautiful with her lace dress and bouquet of greenery, pink and peach, but added a little funky edge with a gorgeous headpiece and awesome silver cowboy boots!

They held their wedding at a family friends’ farm, with their ceremony taking place in the courtyard, officiated by the lovely Jo at My Perfect Ceremony under an arch of greenery. Lizzy beamed as she walked down the aisle with her dad, and her and John’s ridiculously cute son made an excellent ring bearer! There wasn’t a dry eye as her two bridesmaids gave readings, and they left under a tunnel of confetti with bubbles for the kids. So much fun!

Everyone enjoyed a buffet wedding breakfast surrounded by rustic decoration of pompoms, jam jar flowers and fairy lights. The best part about the farm location of their day was the almost unlimited selection of backdrops to shoot! We couldn’t resist getting some pictures with a tractor, and of course on the hay bales. We were lucky enough to get a gorgeous golden hour before sunset, and we sat in the hay taking photographs.

Hetty & Josh: Summer Garden Marquee Wedding

There is something particularly special and heartfelt about a wedding held in the garden at home, and that is exactly what Hetty & Josh chose for their sunny June wedding day, held in the garden of Josh’s parents.

Hetty looked stunning in her lace dress by Sincerity Bridal and flowing blonde curls. She carried a bouquet of white peonies, and pink and white roses by Daisy Ellen and walked down the aisle to a string quartet. They said their vows in the marquee in front of the fountain, before heading out greeted by their gorgeous little dog Harley (have I ever said how much I LOVE dogs at weddings?!)

The garden had a beautiful hedge of lavender, sprinkled with fairy lights which made for the perfect backdrop for their portraits, and as we shot the sun shone through the trees. It was gorgeous! They treated their guests to one of the best wedding bands I’ve ever seen and an awesome saxophonist for the evening’s entertainment, and we left them to boogie the night away. Congratulations you two!

“Wow! Thank you so much for these amazing pictures, I feel like you captured every second of our special day. I’m going to have so much enjoyment looking through them all (numerous times!!) It was such a perfect day!

You were both so great on the day, really helpful with guiding us through and you managed to get all these photos without being in the way at all! Just brilliant. I will definitely be recommending you to anyone I know getting married in the future!”
